Miniature Barn Movie Perspective Effect and Lady Shoe

Our experienced craftsmen have designed and built several miniature and scaled models of barns for films and tv shows for decades. If you are looking for a scaled model of a barn or farm, our artisans can build exactly what you are looking for. Just let us know what you have in mind and our professional staff will work closely with you every step of the way to construct the ideal barn or any building or scene you have in mind. Barns have been featured in movies more times than be counted, especially old westerns or movies set in the country. Sometimes it is more economical and practical to have a scaled model of a barn built and utilized during the making of a film than the real thing. This is especially true when you want to blow up, burn or destroy the barn or building during the movie as part of the plot without actually destroying a real barn. We can build scaled models of any building or structure toyou specific requests and at any level of detail you require. A barn is an agricultural building used for storage and as a covered workplace. It may sometimes be used to house livestock or to store farming vehicles and equipment. Barns are most commonly found on a farm. Older barns were usually built from lumber sawn from timber on the farm, although stone barns were sometimes built in areas where stone was a cheaper building material. In older style barns, the upper area was used to store hay and sometimes grain. This is called the hayloft. A large door at the top of the ends of the barn could be opened up so that hay could be put in the loft. The hay was hoisted into the barn by a system containing pulleys and a trolley that ran along a track attached to the top ridge of the barn. Trap doors in the floor allowed animal feed to be dropped into the mangers for the animals. In New England it is common to find barns attached to the main farmhouse, allowing for chores to be done while sheltering the worker from the weather. In the middle of the twentieth century the large broad roof of barns were sometimes painted with slogans in the United States. Another scale model building we created for a customer is this the shoe/ house that was described in the popular English language nursery rhyme "There Was An Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe", that we built as partof the set for a play. The most common version of the rhyme is: "There was an old woman who lived in a shoe. She had so many children, she didn't know what to do; She gave them some broth without any bread; Then whipped them all soundly and put them to bed." The earliest printed version in Joseph Ritson's Gammer Gurton's Garland in 1794 has the coarser last line: "She whipp'd all their bums, and sent them to bed." There were many other variations printed in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Whatever building or structure you need a scaled model of, our experienced artists can design it and build it exactly as you request. We will use your ideas and help you get what you need working closely to ensure we are all on the same page and you get your needs met in the time frame you require.
